Landsort/Öja

Landsort, or as it’s actually named, Öja, is the southernmost outpost of the Stockholm Archipelago. The most notable sightseeing spot is the lighthouse which also happens to be the oldest one in Sweden. Landsort has an important part in the history of piloting ships, a breathtaking scenery and a rich birdlife. If you’re lucky you can spot both eagles and seals here.
Other sights to see include a sculpture exhibition around the island and an old military defence facility from the Cold War. There is a hostel, a b’n’b, a local shop and a restaurant on the island.
