Enjoy nature with style – try ”glamping”

Glamping can be the perfect way to experience nature while at the same time be able to enjoy the comfort of a luxurious bed with hotel standards.

So what is glamping, really? Glamping is a trend that never seems to fade away – perhaps because it's the perfect combination of relaxation and convenience. Glamping is simply camping but in a more luxurious version, implying more glamour (or at least the name suggests so). Practically, a glamping site consists of one or more tipi tents where you sleep in a real bed, yet are still able to hear the birds through the tent fabric. Additionally, in many places, you can have a breakfast basket delivered outside in the morning, to wake up to.

Glamping in the Stockholm archipelago

Combining activities, such as hiking or other excursions, with glamping is a popular way to experience the archipelago during the summer. Rest between comfortable sheets and relax to the sound of the waves outside. The type of glamping that suits you is, of course, individual – in the archipelago, you can find all sorts of glamping experiences, such as tents floating on a dock or firmly attached on land with your personal porch.

Spacious and beautiful

When you choose glamping, you don't have to lie on hard sleeping pads; instead, you can have a room as cozy as a hotel room. The tents are usually spacious with room for both a bed and furniture – and if you're lucky, you'll have a beautiful view waiting for you outside. Perhaps that could be the secret of glamping in the archipelago – that you don't have to sacrifice nature even while sleeping.

What to bring with you

Since most things are included in the experience, you don't need to pack much, but earplugs and an eye mask can be useful if you're particularly sensitive to light and noise. Glamping sites usually have everything ready and in place – like comfortable beds, blankets, pillows, sheets, and more, so you don't have to carry sleeping bags and camping stoves. Some places even offer the option to order a dinner basket with ingredients to cook over an open fire, or the opportunity to visit a restaurant. If you want to know more about what's included, you can always contact the host to inquire about the details of your stay.

Make sure to book early

Thanks to the popularity of glamping, spots fill up quickly, and some glamping sites are booked up a year in advance. But there's always the possibility of last-minute cancellations, so it might still be worth taking a chance and contacting the place you dream of glamping at.
