Stora Kalholmen
Stora (big) and lilla (small) Kalholmen create a lagoon like natural harbour at the junction to the outermost islets in Stockholm’s central archipelago.
Here you can come to enjoy the beautiful nature or go for a swim or hike. There is a small child friendly beach in the bay, and on the east side of the island there are low cliffs for swimming and sunbathing. If you would like to stay overnight, you can book a room at the hostel that also rents out cabins. If you come by private boat, you can stop at the well protected natural harbour.
Regarding the nature reserve
Stora Kalholmen is a part of Hjälmö-Lådna nature reserve managed by the Archipelago Foundation. You can read all about the rules for nature reserves at the County Administrative Board.
