Dalsbruk Ironworks Village
Situated on the southern point of Kimitoön, Dalsbruk Ironworks Village is an intriguing blend of industrial history, rich culture, and archipelago ambiance. Dalsbruk is one of the oldest ironworks in Finland: the first blast furnace was built in the township some 330 years ago and operations only ceased in 2012. The Dalsbruk Ironworks Museum is the best place to learn more about this fascinating period, but iron is not the only feather in Dalsbruk’s cap anymore. Nowadays, the township is home to the popular Baltic Jazz festival as well as a whole suite of entertaining events like Festival Norpas and September Open. At just over an hour’s drive from Turku, Dalsbruk is the perfect day trip.
