Stegsholms Gård is on the island of Gålö, about 35 kilometres from the centre of Stockholm. Stegsholms Gård is one of the last dairy farms left in Stockholm. The farm is run by several generations of the Borg family that also run many agricultural farms.

There are cows, horses, sheep, and a few rabbits. During the summer you can enjoy great homemade meals and Swedish fika in the Farm café and take a stroll through the meadows and pastures to admire the animals. There is also a small farm shop at the café where you can buy locally produced cheese, meat from the farm and other local specialities. The farm has a riding academy running year-round with some of the farm´s 40 horses of different sizes. During the summer school vacations there are camps offered for children.

Stegsholms gård - riding school
Farm

The farm has a riding school for both adults and children. We have 40 small and large horses and offer longer lessons, which gives you time to take care of the horses before and after riding. We strive for a friendly and cooperative atmosphere at the riding school and to give all our pupils basic horse knowledge as part of the riding lessons. The lessons are held outside in both the paddock, field and in the forest. The horses are calm and used to everything that happens on a farm.

Café

The café and restaurant is right next to the farm. We offer locally produced food and meats from our own farm. We are open during the summer and have many exciting event nights such as cheese and wine tasting, quiz nights and live music.

Stegsholms gård farm store
Farm store

This farm store is right next to the café and sells locally produced goods during the summer. There is also a newly opened Farm shed that is open year-round, which is a complement to the farm store in the café. Here we sell cheese made from the farm’s milk, meat from the animals at the farm and many other high quality locally produced products.
