Ålö

Ålö is connected to the larger neighbouring island of Utö by a small bridge. The island is mostly known for the popular sandy beach at Stora Sand.

The beach is one of Stockholm’s most popular beaches, and during the summer the place is filled with visitors. At Ålöfladen there is a guest jetty, a natural harbour, and the jetty restaurant Båtshaket, where you can enjoy the view of islets from the veranda. The trails at Ålö take you through lovely forests and pastures with grazing animals and are perfect for bike rides.

Regarding the nature reserve

Ålö is a part of Ålö-Rånö nature reserve that is managed by the Archipelago Foundation.

You can read all about the rules for nature reserves at the County Administrative Board.
